Trams run on weekends, school & public holidays or by arrangement
The
Kapiti Coast Electric Tramway provides a glimpse into Wellington's past
with its collection of working heritage trams and memorabillia. The
museum is open daily and during weekends, public and school holidays,
trams run regularly from the park entrance at MacKays Crossing for 2
Kms to Whareroa Beach. When trams are running, the fare is $8.00 per
adult, $4.00 per child or $20.00 per family (2A, 2C) and includes tram
ride and musem entry.Entry by donation to Museum only, when Trams are
not operating.
- Enjoy
a nostalgic look back at a piece of Wellington's transport history with
our tramway display and tram ride through the scenic coastal sand dunes
of Queen Elizabeth Park. Take a look at our museum display, our 'Yesteryear
Today' film showing inside the tram used in the movie 'King Kong' and
other interesting tramway artifacts.
- Our
shop is open during operating hours selling tram tickets, ice creams,
soft drinks, snacks and tramway souvenirs.
